What you looked at on this visit. While you browse, the website notes in your browser tab the exhibitions, artists, fairs, events, viewing rooms, shop items and works you open, and the website or campaign that brought you here. This list stays in your browser and is deleted when you close the tab. It reaches us only if you send an inquiry with “Include what I looked at on this visit” checked; it then becomes part of your inquiry and is kept with it. You can see the list in the form and uncheck the box before you send. The box is checked to begin with, except for visitors in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and for visitors who have opted out (Your Privacy Choices or a Global Privacy Control signal). If you have opted out, nothing is noted at all.
Notice at collection
Where we collect personal information, we link to this section. In short: we collect the categories listed in the table above, for the purposes and periods given there. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer anything about you.
Who receives personal information
Only service providers that work for us under contract and may use the information only for us: our hosting provider WL Artworld Solutions GmbH (Germany), Cloudflare, WrkLst, Mailchimp (Intuit), Shopify and its payment providers, shipping carriers, art handlers and our accountants. We disclose information to authorities only when the law requires it.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics work without cookies. What the website stores in your browser, and why, is listed in our Cookie and Storage Policy.
Your privacy choices and browser signals
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a request to opt out, and our analytics do not record your visits. You can also opt out on Your Privacy Choices.
Your rights as a California resident
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:
- know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why and with whom we share it, and get a copy of it;
- have it deleted;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do neither);
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we use it only to fulfill orders and requests);
- not be discriminated against for using these rights.
To make a request, use our request form, email [email protected], or call +1 213 623 3280. You can also ask an authorized agent to make a request for you. Before we act on a request to know, delete or correct, we verify your identity by contacting you at the email address you give. We confirm a request within 10 business days and answer within 45 calendar days. Where the law allows, we keep the records of works you bought after a request to delete, because they document the provenance of those works; we tell you if we do.
Categories collected in the past 12 months (CCPA terms), each from you directly, our website or our service providers:
- Identifiers: name, email address, postal address, telephone number, IP address.
- Customer records (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)): billing and shipping details, correspondence, resale certificates and tax IDs of trade buyers.
- Commercial information: purchases, orders and inquiries.
- Internet activity: pages visited on this website; with an inquiry, if you include it, what you looked at during that visit.
We disclosed these categories for business purposes to the service providers named above. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the information of consumers under 16. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83).
Visitors from the European Union, United Kingdom and Switzerland
We process your information to perform a contract with you (orders), on the basis of our legitimate interest (answering inquiries, running and securing the website, counting visits without cookies, keeping the provenance records of works we sell) or with your consent (newsletter, playing an embedded video, including what you looked at with an inquiry). You may access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your information, object to processing, withdraw consent at any time and complain to your data protection authority. Your information is processed in the United States and in Germany, where our website is hosted.
