Our House: Selections from MOCA’s Collection features works from the 1950s to the present. Organized as a series of discrete galleries presenting thematic dialogues between artists and artworks, the exhibition departs from conventional art historical narratives to bring forth new and unexpected views of the collection. From depictions of a nation in transition and psychologically charged figurative forms to early experiments in video and a gallery of MOCA’s beloved Mark Rothko paintings, the exhibition celebrates the multiplicity of the museum’s holdings, which now comprise more than 7,200 artworks.
Our House: Selections from MOCA's Collection is organized by Bennett Simpson, Senior Curator, and Mia Locks, former Senior Curator, with Karlyn Olvido, Curatorial Assistant, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
