Fabricating with Fungi: this workshop will survey methods for producing practical materials with living mushroom mycelium. The first half of this workshop will outline DIY techniques for converting waste into renewable “mycomaterials” including foam and leather. During the second half of the workshop, attendees of this workshop will collectively inoculate a sculptural mold for a bench that will become a semi-permanent feature within the greenhouse at Vielmetter Los Angeles.
